Jamia Millia Islamia Online Admission Process
The students interested in admission to the PhD program at Jamia Millia Islamia must follow the steps mentioned below-
- Application Form- The first step in the admission process of PhD program at JMI is filling out and submitting the application form. Students interested in the PhD program at JMI should constantly check for admission notifications from the university. Once the University has released notification for PhD admission, an application window will be provided to the students at the official website. Students are required to register themselves fill in the information required by the university and pay the application fees. The information provided in the application form must be correct and students should review their form before final submission. Any discrepancy in the application form may lead to the disqualification of the candidate.
- Entrance Exam- After the successful submission of the application form, JMI will conduct an entrance exam for PhD admissions. All the students who have filled out the application form must attend the entrance exam (studnts who are qualified for UGC NET and CSIR NET are exempted). Students will get two sets of question papers in the entrance exam. The first question paper will include 50 multiple-choice questions, each worth one mark. The topics such as teaching and research aptitude, reasoning, comprehension, language and writing skills, and relevant contemporary issues in research and higher education are included in paper 1. Students will get 1 hour for the first paper. The Second paper focuses on advanced knowledge of the subject and its specialization. The weightage of the second paper is 100 marks. Out of 100 marks, 50 marks are devoted to objective types of questions 1 mark each, and 50 marks are assigned for subjective questions.
- Qualify for the Entrance Test - Students scoring 50 percent marks in each first and second paper separately will qualify for the next step.
- Synopsis Submission- Students qualifying for the entrance test and those who were exempted from the entrance exam will be required to prepare a synopsis of their selected research topic. The Synopsis will include-
- Topic of research
- Objectives
- The current state of the literature related to the proposed topic
- Proposed Research Work
- Methodology
- References
- Any other relevant information
- Interview-The students who have submitted their synopsis to their concerned departments will be invited for an interview. The selected candidates need to present and defend their research proposal before the department research committee. Based on the performance of the students in the interview, a merit list will be prepared for the selected students with their allotted supervisors.
- Fee Payment- The selected students will have to secure their allotted PhD seats by paying the first installment for the course fees.
- Start the PhD program- Once the fee payment is complete, students will receive admission confirmation from Jamia Millia Islamia to start the PhD program.

I took admitted in 2021 to an online pg program in Jamia Milia Islamia. In initial time, I was worried since that was the first time that the university was providing online courses and I enrolled in their first batch, but later I got relief as the management was so good. I successfully accomplished the course.

I Am Doing My MBA From Jamia Millia Islamia And To Be Honest My Experience Has Been Good. The College Has A Lot To Offer From Education To Placements. Personally I Am Pretty Impressed With The Placement Part As Some Students Got Really Good Opportunities With Nice Packages, It Would Have Been Difficult To Get Such Opportunities Otherwise.
