About Manipal B.Tech Lateral Entry Programs

Manipal Education is a leader in the education department. It is a group of five universities i.e. Manipal University Jaipur (Jaipur), Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE, Karnataka), Manipal International University (Malaysia), Sikkim Manipal University (Sikkim), and American University of Antigua (Caribbean Islands). The government of Rajasthan invited Manipal University Jaipur (MUJ) in 2011. Manipal University Jaipur is located at Jaipur-Ajmer Express Highway, Dehmi Kalan, Near GVK Toll Plaza, Jaipur, Rajasthan. Manipal  University Jaipur is NAAC A+ accredited, has an NIRF 76 ranking in engineering, is recognized by the Bar Council of India and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), and is approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

At Manipal University Jaipur various undergraduate, postgraduate, doctorate, and online courses are provided. Here, 10 different types of UG courses are provided and Engineering is one of them. In undergraduate engineering or Bachelor of Technology courses, many different branches are available for students. B.Tech is a 4-year degree course which provides the technical knowledge. Being a technical degree it cannot be pursued online or in distance mode so for professionals it is offered as a B.Tech with flexible timing programs i.e. B.Tech for working professionals course. Students Also Ask | B.Tech Distance Education!

In India, there is a huge number of people who pursue a 3-year diploma after the 10th instead of 10+2, and after completing the diploma they enroll in the 2nd year of B.Tech i.e. B.Tech Lateral Entry. It is similar to regular B.Tech, here also students get the same opportunities, campus life, regular classes, placement support, extracurriculars, etc.

But there are few people who opt for jobs after a diploma, and after getting some work experience they also want to pursue higher education without quitting jobs. Now they cannot pursue online or distance B.Tech therefore for that group of people B.Tech for working professionals is introduced. Because after this degree they get many other perks such as new skills, a promotion, another job, an increased salary, etc. In this course, students are also enrolled in 2nd year directly because before admission they have completed a three-year diploma.

This is a 3-year degree course so it has six semesters of six months each. Here, the classes are held in the evenings on weekdays, or on weekends, this is because if the classes do not affect the office hours then it’ll be easier for professionals to pursue this. Achieving the dream of completing higher education can be easily done through this working professionals course as it gives enough flexibility and a chance to maintain both education and employment. In this program students or professionals get facilities the same as a regular degree, and after completion of the course, the ‘regular B.Tech’ degree is provided.

B.Tech for working professionals provides many other benefits, it is a flexible program that means students or professionals are not bound to physically attend lectures every day instead virtual theoretical classes are scheduled after office hours like on weekends or in the evenings on weekdays. It is cost-friendly because the fee of this course is less than the regular course and it also saves the amount of travel, bus, food, hostel, etc. In this degree students have to visit campus for examinations only, the exams are conducted as midterm and endterm. Students have to visit campus for exams and practical classes only. Students also get the opportunity to connect with other working professionals as peers, which helps in creating a network.

Few institutes that offer B.Tech in flexible timing are as follows:

  • Lingayas Vidyapeeth University
  • Shri Venkateshwara University
  • Niilm University

Few Similarities between Lateral Entry and flexible timing courses:

In both of the courses, students receive a ‘regular’ degree because even though they enrolled in 2nd year, most of the things are similar to regular 4-year courses. Other than this facilities like learning management systems through which course syllabi, assignments, etc. can be accessed. Many other engaging activities are also conducted like assignments, tests, quizzes, webinars, etc.

Online Degree Acceptance

Online degrees earned from a government-approved university, just like a regular degree, are accepted by the top recruiters worldwide including government & private sectors.

Value of Online Degree

An online degree from a government-approved university holds similar recognition in the industry as that of a regular degree. Thus, it is equally valuable when considered for a job or higher education.

Quality of Education

The quality of education offered in online programs is of the same standard as offered in an on-campus program. Be it curriculum, faculty members, evaluation methods, practical sessions, online & on-campus programs follow similar standards of quality.
