National Institute of Technology (NIT) Sikkim is among the 31 NITs in India and was founded in the year 2010 as an Institute of National Importance under the National Institutes of Technology Act, 2007. The institute is situated in Ravangla, South Sikkim, and comes under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, and has all the autonomy in academic, administrative, and financial aspects.
The NIT Sikkim strives to deliver quality technical education in the ideal combination of theoretical learning, practical learning and research-based learning. The campus has up-to-date infrastructure comprising all the modernized laboratories, smart classrooms, a well-developed library, research centres, and residential facilities. NIT Sikkim has an efficient admission process for its on-campus and online courses. In the case of online programs to be provided in partnership with Intellipaat, the steps to be followed are as follows:
Step 1: Go to the official admission portal of the online programs at NIT Sikkim, and create an account by giving the basic contact information.
Step 2: Choose the preferred specialization in the program and go through the eligibility requirements, such as the degree qualification and minimum percentage required.
Step 3: Fill in the detailed application form and personal, academic and professional details and documents required.
Step 4: Attend the entrance examination or eligibility test according to the program requirements.

National Institute of Technology (NIT) Sikkim Examination Pattern
NIT Sikkim has an elaborate semester-based examination system in on-campus and online programs. The school year is split into two semesters, and the assessment would be in the form of continuous internal evaluation (assignments, quizzes, projects, presentations, and mid-term examination) and a final semester examination. In the case of on-campus programs, the students are physically located in classes and laboratories and are given face-to-face tests. In case of online M.Tech programs provided in partnership with Intellipaat, the examination can be done using the online system proctored by AI or in some assigned examination centers in India. The grading system is based on AICTE and UGC-DEB standards, guaranteeing a standardized evaluation and the recognition of credentials across all programs.
