National Institute of Technology (NIT) Sikkim is among the 31 NITs in India and was founded in the year 2010 as an Institute of National Importance under the National Institutes of Technology Act, 2007. The institute is situated in Ravangla, South Sikkim, and comes under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, and has all the autonomy in academic, administrative, and financial aspects.
