Getting admission in India’s premier engineering institutes, one has to go through the tough entrance exam. These entrance exams include JEE Main and JEE Advanced. JEE Advanced 2026 is a national-level engineering entrance exam which held on  May 17, 2026. This year, JEE Advanced 2026 is conducted by IIT Roorkee. The registration for JEE Advanced 2026 starts from April 23, 2026 open till May 2026.  Applicants can download the admit card in May 2026, mandatory for the entrance exam. It can be downloaded from the official website, jeeadv.ac.in.  And the result will be announced in June 2026.

JEE Advanced 2026: Eligibility Criteria For Indian Students 

Road to IITs is JEE Advanced 2026. To be eligible for registration for the entrance exam. So deserving candidates are given a chance they deserve. If you are planning to fill out the JEE Advanced 2026 Application Form, check the eligibility Criteria: 

  • JEE Main: to appear for JEE Advanced 2026, among the top 2,50,000 rank holders in JEE Main 2026 B.E./B.Tech is mandatory.
  • Age Restriction: Applicants who were born on or after 1 October 2001 can apply for the application form. 
  • Age Relaxation: A 5-year age relaxation is granted to the SC, ST, and PwD candidates. In simple words, those who belong to these categories and should be born on or after 1 October 1996 can apply for the JEE Advanced 2026. 
  • Passing of 12th Standard: Students who have passed class 12th from the science stream and studied Mathematics in 2025 and 2026 can register for the entrance exam. 

Note: Candidates who have been admitted to IIT earlier or applied for an online seat but chose not to continue or were rejected by the institute can’t apply for the JEE Advanced 2026.  

JEE Advanced 2026: Eligibility Criteria for Foreign Students 

Aspirants who don’t own Indian citizenship or whose parents aren’t from India are considered foreign students if they don’t count under the OCI/PIO category. Here is the eligibility criteria for JEE Advanced 2026 foreign students: 

  • The 10+2 level is mandatory for applicants from foreign nations to apply for JEE Advanced 2026. 
  • In case of international students studying in India, need to apply for the OPEN category for JEE Advanced when they complete 12th board examinations with a certain percentage. 
  • Parents' identification is necessary for such candidates. 

Note: 10% of the seats are reserved for foreign applicants in the JEE Advanced.  

JEE Advanced 2026 Admission Process

If the eligibility guidelines are fulfilled, candidates can move to the JEE Advanced 2026 admission process by following the instructions given here: 

  • First, aspirants have to apply for the JEE Mains 2026. Their rank should be among the top 2.5 lakh candidates in BE/B.Tech paper. 
  • If the above criteria are fulfilled, candidates can apply and have to appear for the JEE Advanced Exam. They can register on the JEE Advanced official website. 
  • Qualifying for the JEE Advanced 2026, i.e., achieving the cutoff score, is necessary to continue the admission process. 
  • After that, you can register for JoSAA counselling. Through counselling for seat allotment in IITs. 

JEE Advanced 2026 Registration Process

For registration, follow the simple steps mentioned here: 

  • Visit the JEE Advanced official website.
  • For registration, the JEE Main 2026 roll number, password, and security pin are required.
  • Fill in personal details like name, parents' names, contact info, and address.
  • Select eight preferred exam cities.
  • Scan and upload a passport-size photo and signature.
  • Verify and submit the application form to complete the registration process.

JoSSA Counselling 2026: Seat Allocation  

After the qualifying examination, the applicants must register for the JoSAA Counselling 2026: 

  • For counselling, qualifying applicants have to visit the official website for counselling registration 2026 to sign up for the program at any IITs. 
  • Students must remember that the seat allocation timeline is limited and needs to be followed strictly. Also, the process is completed online. 
  • First, they have to select their choices and pay the pre-payment for the JoSAA Seat Acceptance Fee. 
  • Applicants have to choose academic programs based on their preference. “Academic program” indicates that applicants have to select the course/specialization and institute.
  • After mock seat allocation, candidates have to submit the fees to book their seats.

Where can I download the JEE Advanced 2026 Admit Card? 

An admit card is a prerequisite to enter the exam centre. Along with the JEE Advanced 2026 Admit Card, candidates must carry the ID Proof to get permission to sit in the centre.

Steps to download the JEE Advanced 2026 Admit Card

  • Go to the official website of JEE Advanced. 
  • On the homepage, the Admit Card download link is available. 
  • After clicking on the link, you will be directed to another page. You need to enter the login credentials, like the application number and password. Click on the Submit Button. 
  • Your Admit Card will be generated, and select the download option.  
  • Next, you need to print the Admit card. Because a printed copy is required at the centre.

The objective of the JEE Advanced 2026is to select the right candidates based on their analytical, reasoning, problem-solving ability, and clarity of concepts studied at the 11th and 12th standards. The JEE Advanced exam pattern varies every year for both papers. However, the basic exam pattern followed for JEE Advanced is:
