LEET Exams 2025 - Eligibility, Syllabus & Important Dates

LEET Exam (Lateral Entry Entrance Test) refers to the entrance exam for securing admission into the second year of a B.Tech program. A graduation degree is required to advance their engineering education. Individuals with relevant technical qualifications are eligible to continue their engineering studies at an advanced level after their diploma. LEET Exam stands for Lateral Entry Entrance Test, which is an entrance exam for B.Tech lateral entry. B.Tech program in lateral entry engineering, and this program opens the opportunity for diploma holders to gain more skills.  

Lateral Entry exam dates have not yet been announced for 2025.  

Different States' LEET Exams Are Conducted 

  • Haryana LEET: Conducted by the Haryana State Technical Education Society (HSTES).
  • JLEE (Assam): Conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, Assam
  • DTE Kerala LET: Conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, Kerala
  • UPSEE (Uttar Pradesh)
  • UKSEE (Uttarakhand)
  • JELET (West Bengal)
  • PULEET (Panjab University)
  • Indraprastha University Common Entrance Test (IPU CET).
  • Maharashtra Direct Second Year Engineering Admission.
  • Delhi Technological University Lateral Entry Engineering Test (DTU LEET).
  • Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) Lateral Entry Test.
  • Telangana State Engineering Common Entrance Test (TS-ECET).

LEET Exam Fee and Registration 

The application form is available online, and the deadline for submission is early November. The LEET examination fee varies from states to states. In addition to that, there may be additional benefits given to the candidates belongs from reserved categories.

Eligibility Criteria for LEET Exam 2025 

This is the eligibility criterion of the Lateral Entry Course:

Must have completed a 3-year diploma in engineering/technology (after 10th or 12th), recognized by a State Board of Technical Education.

Minimum Marks

There are 45%–50 % aggregate marks in diplomas (40%–45 % for reserved categories such as SC/ST/OBC). This may vary by institution.

Stream Match

The diploma should be in the relevant branch of engineering for which lateral entry is sought.

Entrance Exam (if applicable)

Many states/universities require candidates to qualify in LEET (Lateral Entry Entrance Test) or a state-specific exam (e.g., JELET in West Bengal, UPSEE in Uttar Pradesh).

Age Limit

Usually, there is no specific age limit, but some institutes might have restrictions.

It studies the fundamental principles of matter, energy, forces, and their interactions. Includes mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, optics, and modern physics.

Chemistry:

Science of matter and its transformations, focusing on composition, properties, and reactions of substances. Branches: physical, inorganic, and organic chemistry.

Mathematics:

It is the language of science, comprising algebra, trigonometry, and analytical geometry. Essential for problem-solving in various disciplines.

General Awareness

Section of testing current events, history, geography, science, and general knowledge. Covers recent news, politics, economics, sports, and more.

LEET Exam 2025 Admit Card

The LEET 2025 Admit Card will be available on the official website soon. To download the Haryana LEET 2025  Admit Card, they and enter their Application Number to access their account. Candidates who have completed the Haryana LEET 2025 application form can access their admit card on the official website.  Details will appear, such as the candidate's name, application number, exam center, exam date and time, and many more. 

The following are the steps for downloading the LEET 2025 Admit Card:

  • On the page of the LEET 2025 official website, select the Haryana LEET 2025 Admit Card option. 
  • For identification purposes, enter your registration number and registered date of birth.
  • The Admit Card will be displayed on the screen.
  • Print the Admit card.

LEET Exam 2025 Result

The exam result will be announced online in the form of a Merit List on the official site of the exam. Follow the steps to check your result:- 

  • To review the result, click on the official website at  Haryana LEET 2025 Results.
  • Enter your Application Number and Date of Birth to see your result.
  • Download copies of the result and keep ready hard and soft copies. 
  • If two candidates have received equal marks, then the following is a tie-break criterio.n
  • Candidates with higher Math scores will be ranked higher.
  • Following that, the Physics score will be considered.
  • Scores of all OLET Engineering subjects will be considered.

B.Tech for working professionals is a specialized engineering program designed for individuals who already hold jobs and want to enhance their technical skills without leaving their employment. These programs offer flexible learning options online classes, allowing professionals to balance work and studies. The minimum passing percentage for the LEET (Lateral Entry Entrance Test) exam in Haryana is 45% for general category students and 40% for reserved categories like SC/ST/OBC/PwD.

FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)

Only to a related branch. For example, a diploma in Electrical Engineering might allow you to opt for B.Tech in EEE or Electronics, but not in Civil.
 

Yes, it is equally valid as a regular B.Tech. You are eligible for all central and state government technical posts, including PSU jobs, GATE, etc.
 

Yes, lateral entry students can appear for GATE to pursue M.Tech, apply for PSUs, or research roles.
 

This varies by state or university. Some exams have no negative marking, while others may deduct 0.25 marks for a wrong answer.
 

Around 90 to 120 questions, depending on the conducting body.

As of now no IIIT or NIT allows lateral admission to 2nd year. You can try for IIIT Hyderabad they conduct their separate entrance test.
