The application process for UGC NET (University Grants Commission-National Eligibility Test) in December 2024 has been started. The Online portal is now open for registration and interested candidates can fill out their application forms. The National Testing Agency(NTA) is the governing body that regulates the UGC NET examinations. It issued an official notification on 19th November 2024 at https://ugcnet.nta.ac.in/.
The examination for UGC-NET is conducted twice a year in June and December to determine the eligibility of Indian nationals into the following three categories-
- Award of Junior Research Fellowship and appointment as an assistant professor
- Assistant Professorship and PhD admission
- PhD Admission Only
The NTA will conduct the UGC-NET December 2024 examination through Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. The Online application started on 19th November and will remain open till 10th December 2024 (up to 11:50 PM). The examinations will be conducted for 85 subjects as per the schedule mentioned below-

Candidates interested in UGC NET December 2024 can visit the official registration website https://ugcnetdec2024.ntaonline.in/registration/index to apply. The application forms are only accepted in Online mode and NTA does not entertain received in any other mode.
As per the notification, candidates have been asked to strictly follow the guidelines. A candidate can submit only one application form. They have to follow the guidelines mentioned in the notification. Candidates need to make sure that they are providing their own/parents' mobile number and email for registration as all the communication for UGC-NET December 2024 will be done through it. Candidates who do not follow the guidelines will be disqualified.
