A foundational knowledge of the field is required if anyone wants to enroll in the program. So here are the guidelines set up by the universities as per the instructions of the regulatory body:
- Working professionals can apply for the B.Tech. Lateral Entry program with a polytechnic diploma, B.Sc. degree, or D.Voc. in the relevant field.
- They must have one year of experience in a similar field.
- Universities that are concerned about working professionals generally don’t conduct an entrance exam.
Duration
Unlike regular B.Tech, the duration of this course is 3 years because learners are directly admitted to the second year via lateral entry. Promoting learners directly is justified because they possess foundational knowledge in the field, having completed a 2- or 3-year diploma or a B.Sc. program. The objective of polytechnic diploma holders is to master the new skills for high-end technical expertise and cutting-edge technical competencies, hence permitting them to enter the second year of the program. And a degree offered to B.Tech for Working Professionals is equivalent to the B.Tech Regular program.
