Academy of Maritime Education and Training, also known as AMET, was founded in 1993. It is the one and only University from India to be a member of the “International Association of Maritime Universities.” AMET offers different courses related to marine and general sectors ranging from Diploma to Doctoral programs through Faculty of Maritime Studies, Faculty of Commerce, Faculty of Advanced Computing Science, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Faculty of Management Studies, Faculty of Life Sciences, Faculty of Liberal Arts, Faculty of Science and Humanities.
AMET is accredited by the UGC, NAAC with an A Grade (CGPA of 3.13), the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), AICTE, and MHRD. Academy of Maritime Education and Training has been listed as one of the top institutions in Performance Indicators in Maritime Education and Training (PIMET) by the International Association of Maritime Universities (IAMU), Japan. The academy is also recognized by the Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO) and is categorized as a “PERFORMER” institution (Star Ranking 4/5) in the category of “University & Deemed to be University (Private-Self-Financed)” in the Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievement (ARIIA) 2021.
