BITS WILP Online M.Tech in Embedded Systems

BITS Pilani is designated as an Institution of Eminence under the UGC's 2017 norms. The Work Integrated Learning Programmes (WILP) of BITS Pilani provide unique educational opportunities for working professionals. These programs are an extension of the courses provided at BITS Pilani campuses, with the same credit requirements and academic rigor as normal programs. They add to students' practical experience, improving their knowledge, abilities, and productivity.

WILP programs can lead to degrees, diplomas, and certifications in areas such as science, technology, engineering, management, and humanities. The UGC authorized the continuation of BITS Pilani's WILP programs based on the Empowered Expert Committee's proposal.

The M.Tech. in Embedded Systems is a four-semester WILP developed for engineers working in the Embedded Systems field (automotive, avionics, consumer electronics, medical devices, defense, and processor design) who wish to acquire advanced techniques and theories. The core themes include embedded control, real-time systems, model-based design and verification, processor architecture, and chip design.

This Master of Technology program is part of BITS Pilani's UGC-approved WILP. Students may take online lessons from anywhere utilising systems such as Google Meet and Zoom. Classes are often scheduled on weekends or after work hours.

These programs are developed in partnership with industry partners and experts from both industry and academia, allowing students to stay relevant in their jobs and stimulate lifelong learning. Workplace experiences, weekly training sessions, and active participation from organizational mentors all help to strengthen the integration of theory and practice. Case studies, modeling exercises, laboratories, and projects help to strengthen this connection even more.

The eligibility criteria set for the M.Tech program at BITS WILP program for working professionals are mentioned below:

Minimum Eligibility to Apply:

• Employed professionals with a Bachelor of Engineering in EEE/ECE/ENI/Computer Science or equivalent.
• At least 60% aggregate marks.
• Minimum one year of work experience in relevant domains after completing the degree.

Participants must finish at least 12 courses and one project/dissertation. The examination pattern at BITS Pilani WILP programs is divided into three parts: Assignment / Quiz (Online), Mid Semester Test, and Comprehensive exam respectively. The weightage of each component is as follows Assignment / Quiz carries 15%, Mid Semester Test carries 35%, and Comprehensive Exam carries 50%. Each semester of the program conducts these three components to evaluate the overall theoretical and practical understanding of the student.
