IIM Mumbai offers a 1-year Post Graduate Diploma for Executives - Visionary Leaders for Manufacturing (PGDEx-VLFM) programme held full-time on-campus (residential). It is a programme designed with the collaboration of IIM Mumbai and IIT Delhi, meant to train budding leaders for senior or mid-level managerial roles. These students will learn how to provide a strategic impetus and drive change in an extensive range of verticals such as Operations & Supply Management, Business Excellence, World-class Manufacturing, Strategic Planning, and Digital Transformation. This course is meant to produce techno-managerial leaders who can make a difference in the manufacturing sector. 

With the focus on management, technology, leadership, and manufacturing technology, a peer-learning pedagogy is the base of this programme. According to the ever-changing dynamic business environment, this programme equips the students with the right knowledge and develops their skills which gives them an edge over others to thrive in the real world future endeavours. Under this programme, there is an aspect called VLFM (Visionary Leaders for Manufacturing) that provides an approach to learning leadership and managerial skills proactively which enables the students to become those who make impactful change and be competitive globally by executing decisions leading to breakthroughs helping the organisation advance through.

Since the programme is held equally by both IIM Mumbai and IIT Delhi, the fees are meant to be paid at both institutes. The fees meant to be paid at IIM Mumbai are INR 11.07 Lakhs and at IIT Delhi are INR 5.25 Lakhs. The total fees for the entire programme are INR 16.32 Lakhs.  The fees under IIM Mumbai cover tuition fees, hostel charges, caution money deposit, and alumni association membership & contribution. Under IIT Delhi, only tuition fees for the courses provided will be charged.

• Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology.
• Should have a minimum of 4 years and less than 10 years of work experience in domains such as Manufacturing, Consulting, and Operations.

A student can use the EMI facility to pay for the programme fee and additional fees to the institute. EMI could be availed by a student from a plethora of legit EMI providers. An EMI facility eases the burden of students’ financial constraints. Due to the management courses, in institutes such as IIM Mumbai being expensive, it’s challenging to come up with the required money up-front.

IIM Mumbai Executive MBA has a decent evaluation and examination pattern. This pattern is in existence due to the need to produce quality students who can learn experientially during the course and get evaluated through certain outlets. Starting with group exercises that test the student’s ability to collaborate, cooperate, and build rapport. Then there are case studies that are conducted to understand the way and methods applied in managerial scenarios. This assists the student in gaining the knowledge and skills required when it comes to real-world problems and the dynamic business environment that the students are going to face. Then there will be final exams where the entire subject knowledge taught and practised will be evaluated. There is also a research project in which the students apply the theories and concepts learned during the course.

IIM Mumbai has a decent track record when it comes to placing its students in reputed companies. Some of the reputed companies that participated in the placement event were Apollo Tyres, Aditya Birla Grasim, Britannia, Bayer, Reliance, etc. The highest placement achieved by the students was INR 54 LPA CTC.
