IIM Visakhapatnam offers a 2-year Executive MBA course for working professionals (EMBA). This course helps working professionals pursue an MBA while working in their current jobs at the same time. The students get to upskill themselves to gain new management skills and strategies which could be useful for the organisation where they are working. The course is held in hybrid mode where there will be online classes on the Interactive Learning (IL) platform.

Along with that, there will be a 2-time campus immersion. The students get to understand the demands & challenges faced by modern business organisations and get to enhance their knowledge in functional domains. This course sharpens the student’s skills in analytical, decision-making, and diagnostic tools & techniques; and eventually enables the student to play his/her role in the organisation with newly developed confidence and competency. 

Being a general management program, its curriculum has rich and relevant content that caters to the needs of the dynamic business environment. In the first half of the curriculum, functional domains are taken up as core courses, while in the second half with a few core courses, 15 electives are taken based on the student’s domain of interest. The functional domains that are taken up in this course are Finance & Accounting, Organisational Behaviour, Marketing, Information Systems, Economics, Strategy, Human Resources, Entrepreneurship, and Product & Operations. In the first half of this course, core courses from all functional domains are held.

In the second half of the course, core courses such as Business Ethics & Law, Capstone Project, and Project Management are taken up. Along with that, there are 15 electives based on specializations according to the student’s interests such as Finance & Accounting, Decision Sciences, Organisational Behaviour & Human Resource Management, Communication, Entrepreneurship, Economics, Marketing, Production &Operations Management, Information systems, and Strategy. For the course of this curriculum, the total program fee is INR 1190000.
