The Executive MBA in Decision Sciences is a 2-year program provided by IIM Visakhapatnam. It is a management program that specializes in Decision Sciences that trains students, who come from the background of being working professionals, into management leaders who run business structures and drive growth by augmenting effective output. 

These budding management leaders are meant to be familiarized with the functional areas of management as well as the dynamic knowledge of the business world. By familiarization with the business world, the student figures out the way to navigate & dwell in corporate spheres, start-up ecosystems, markets, etc. 

This program is held online and has a campus immersion. The curriculum is designed in such a way that the students through effective practice learn the skills and gain knowledge, to be used pragmatically for the desired output derived from problem-solving challenges.

The Specialization of Decision Sciences blended with management is provided alongside general management modules for the student to develop expertise in the knowledge & skills that are related to Decision Sciences. The student is taught how to make critical decisions. Before such decisions, the student has to understand the significance of forecasting the consequences and interpreting the nuances of the current situation that influence the final decision.

Going deeper into this specialization, the student learns how to judiciously use the tools and sources to be informed of all the possibilities and their respective consequences, towards the point of making decisions in the respective organization. The big takeaway from this program is that of being exposed to technologies, that derive data in a complex manner while putting out simplified results, such as computer science, data analytics, machine learning, AI, etc. 

The curriculum is defined by the relevant skills obtained by the student for driving decision-making through data & quantitative methods such as cost-effective analysis (finding a balance between the costs and the outcomes), risk analysis (consideration of risk factors and how to tackle them for effective desired output), psychological interference (the ability to incorporate new information for updation of the existing knowledge required for decision-making), operation research (analytical method of problem-solving & decision-making according to the former), etc. The techniques & tools mentioned earlier along with significant factors empower & enhance the student to make well-informed decisions for better productivity and efficient results.
