IIM Visakhapatnam Admission Process

The following is the step-by-step procedure for getting admission into IIM Visakhapatnam-

• The student must apply by filling out the application form through the online portal.
• Then the student must upload the documents supporting the details given in the application form.
• Based on the information and documents provided by the candidate to check the eligibility criteria, he/she will be shortlisted.
• The shortlisted candidate has to either take the EMAT( Executive Management Aptitude Test) or one of these- CAT/GRE/GMAT. The score in one of these will be taken into consideration.
• At the IIM Visakhapatnam’s discretion, the student will be called for a personal interview.
• Based on the scores of the tests (EMAT or CAT/GRE/GMAT), the personal interview and gender*, the admission offer** will be made to the deserving candidate.
• Then on the day of the commencement of classes, the selected deserving student can join the batch.

*Before giving the admission offer, a composite score of the test, personal interview and gender are considered. 47.5% weightage is given to the test, the personal interview is given 47.5% weightage and 5% is awarded only to females & transgenders. To increase diversity in the student crowd, a 5% weightage is given in the composite score to female and transgender candidates. 

**After that, the admission offer is decided based on the availability of seats, and candidates satisfying a minimum cutoff(if any) on the test scores or/and personal interview or/and composite score.
