Who Can Apply?
Many dream of studying M.Tech from IIT Delhi, but few can accomplish their goal due to the eligibility criteria set by the institute:
- Applicants are required 60% or 6.00 CGPA on a 10-scale at the graduation level from an approved and recognized university.
- Students have to score well in an entrance exam i.e. GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. The entrance exam is crucial to check the understanding and knowledge of the students related to engineering and their domain studies at the graduation level.
- Applicants must score qualifying marks in the entrance exam.
- IIT Delhi conducts written tests and interviews to select the right candidates to give the opportunity who can make the most of the given opportunity.
- For application, students are supposed to register on the official website of IIT Delhi and GATE COPE to check the cut-off lists.
- Candidates who completed their graduation in engineering from IIT Delhi and scored above 8.0 CGPA are shortlisted without a GATE Score. After being shortlisted candidates have to present for the personal interview. Based on the result, they will be selected for the M.Tech program.

IIT Delhi EMI Details
IIT Delhi provides EMI (Equated Monthly Installment) solutions to students to assist them in handling the financial burden of tuition prices. The university understands the need to make education accessible and affordable to students from diverse backgrounds.
EMI options allow students to pay their tuition in installments over a certain period, often the length of the academic program. This enables students to better manage their finances and continue their studies without facing immediate financial difficulties.
IIT Delhi M.Tech Admission Process
Admission to undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctorate programs at IIT Delhi normally consists of national-level entrance tests and subsequent selection processes. The following is an outline of the admissions process:
Step 1: In the first step, the applicant must undergo a required entrance test like:
- - For UG courses (B.Tech., B.Des., and so forth: JEE (Joint admission test) Main, JEE Advanced, JoSAA Counseling.
- - For PG Courses (M.Tech., M.Des., and so on): GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering)
- - For Doctoral Programs (Ph.D., for example): IIT Delhi holds its entrance examination.
Step 2: Following the results of the tests, the candidate must complete an online application form and submit the necessary papers, which frequently include photocopies of academic transcripts, degree certificates, identity verification, passport-sized pictures, and any other materials indicated by the institution.
Step 3: Applicants often must pay a non-refundable application fee to cover the administrative costs of filling out an application. The university will determine the amount and method of payment.
Step 4: After applying, the admission committee will analyze it. They will check whether the eligibility requirements are met by checking the academic record, test scores, letters of reference, statement of purpose, and other pertinent information.
Step 5: The applicant will be notified of the university's decision by letter. Successful applicants will get an admission offer that includes information about the program, tuition expenses, and any scholarships or financial assistance.
Step 6: Once receiving an admission offer, the applicant must accept it within a particular time frame and pay a program fee or deposit to ensure their admission.
Prospective students must fill out an application form, usually available on the university's official website. Personal details, educational history, and other essential information are requested on the application form.

IIT Delhi is like a dream college for every Indian student and not everybody gets the chance to get into it. However, I was really glad I could study at this prestigious institution through the online mode. The online certificate programs are a great opportunity for students as you get to learn directly from the IIT Delhi faculty.
