Indian Institute of Carpet Technology, Bhadohi

The Indian Institute of Carpet Technology (IICT) is a remarkable institute in India which is dedicated only to carpet and textile education. It is situated in Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh, popularly referred to as the carpet city of India. The Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, set up IICT in 2001 with the intention to lead the introduction of technical education, research, and innovation in the carpet and textile industry.

The Indian Institute of Carpet Technology offers a Bachelors of Technology program in Carpet and Textile Technology. The course covers textile engineering, design, and production management. Students are taught fiber science, weaving, dyeing, and printing beside quality control. Not only this, but the IICT provides short-term and training programs for professionals and entrepreneurs in the carpet industry.

The campus has modern laboratories, design studios, and computer-aided textile design labs. Students do the hands-on learning in each stage of carpet manufacturing starting from raw material and ending with the final product.
