Admission into the Part-Time PhD program involves an entrance exam for IIFT, followed by an interview round. The duration of this course is a minimum of three years, and the universities assign a mentor to the students who guides them during the course.

Course Benefits
- The minimum registration period shall be three years, including two semesters of coursework.
- The maximum registration period shall be six years, within which a further 2 years may be requested (maximum 8 years may not be exceeded).
- Coursework is required within the first year; classes are scheduled on the weekends, accommodating learners who are also working professionals.
- The program requires thirteen (13) credit hours of coursework; a seminar paper (seminar paper credit(s) will contribute to the total coursework credits) will be required and should total thirteen (13) credits, and 1 credit hour equals 10 hours.
- The areas of specialization in the Business Administration Program include Economics, Management, Finance, OB & HR, Strategy, Global Trade Operations, IT Application Management, Marketing, Operations & Supply Chain Management.
- Fees to be paid are approximately ₹1.55 lakhs up to ₹6.65 lakhs depending on the specialization and totalized overall depending on specialization.
- Your admission includes a written test and an interview; applicants who hold a UGC-NET-JRF do not have to take the entrance test. No upper limit to an applicant's age.
- An applicant who is pursuing this program part-time must present a No Objection Certificate from their employer.
- Funds available for PhD scholars include a three-member Doctoral Advisory Committee.
