What is B.Tech Computer Science? B.Tech stands for Bachelor of Technology, it is an undergraduate degree course which is generally of four years. Computer Science is a branch of this B.Tech degree. At Shri Venkateshwara University, we provide this course for working professionals.
Here, we we provide this Bachelor of Technology degree in various branches and gives students the opportunity to choose any branch of B.Tech as per their interest. Computer Science Engineering is one of them. CSE or Computer Science engineering branch consists of the core knowledge of technologies, software, and their functionalities. The subjects included in this branch are programming languages, web development, computer networks, computer system organization, etc. After enrolling in B.Tech CSE, you can also pick any one specialization such as artificial intelligence, data science, machine learning, cyber security, etc.
The work of Computer Science Engineers is mainly about designing, developing, analyzing, and implementing technical solutions in any software. Computer Science is emerging day by day and these engineers have created many things such as websites that we use every day, mobile or computer applications, etc. The methods that computer science engineers use to perform their tasks are coding or programming, analyzing data, creating APIs, generating IP, testing software, etc. Because of the computer science engineers we have Artificial Intelligence and have tools like ChatGPT that make our daily lives easy.
It is one of the very popular branches of B.Tech. CS engineers are very much required for jobs. The degree that we are providing is tailored for working professionals. Working professionals are those people who are employed and want to pursue a degree without quitting their jobs. This course is provided in flexible shifts so that working professionals can balance their employment and education. This degree course is primarily made for people who want to switch to a better job or are looking to get a promotion. Because of this flexible timing, working professionals get the chance to pursue an academic journey while continuing their jobs. This allows students to create a balance between their education and other commitments such as employment.
The duration of this course is 3 to 3.5 years or 6 to 7 semesters. Students get enrolled directly in the 2nd year of the program because they have already learned all the basics that are taught in the first year during their diploma or polytechnic.
This Computer Science Engineering B.Tech is a mixture of online and offline modes of education. This course is similar to the traditional mode of education. This course provides advanced information on engineering and technology in computer science. In this course, the timing of classes will be in the evenings, on weekends, or during public holidays. The method to conduct classes is through live lectures but students also get access to recorded lectures. For practical classes and practice, simulated virtual labs are provided to students. This course is a combination of core subjects, elective courses, projects, and practical subjects. Each semester some activities are performed to measure students’ academic performance and keep them engaged, such as assignments, tests, quizzes, projects, etc.

Who Can Apply?
At Shri Venkateshwara University, there is an eligibility criteria that a student must fulfill to get admission in B.Tech Computer Science Engineering which are mentioned below:
- A student should have a diploma or polytechnic in the relevant field or can be a 12th pass out with an equivalent degree such as BCA/B.E./B.Sc.
- A student should have at least 55% marks in their qualification.

SVU B.Tech In Computer Science Admission Process
There is an online admission procedure for applying to a technical program at SVU. Fresh admissions generally start in January of every year. One only needs to fill out the admission form available online on the SVU website and apply directly for admission. There is no entrance exam conducted for technical programs, unlike other B.Tech programs. The admission procedure for 2025 for online courses at SVU is as follows:
Step 1: Visit the official SVU website.
Step 2: On the Home Page, you will find Apply Now under which you have to fill in your basic details and submit.
Step 3: Now the admission form will open on your screen. Fill in your basic personal details and click on “Next”.
Step 4: Now select your course and specialization and complete the fee payment.
Step 5: Fill in all your academic details and then upload the necessary documents and then Submit.

I was enrolled in SVU and their LMS and study material qualities are great.lecturers are good in their respective field .Their support team was also supportive . Only student and college internal communication was very less which need to be improved .Assignment number was challenging as compared to time ,that too need to addressed as working professional don't have time to fullfil all assignment deadline.
