An online Master of Arts in Hindi is an online postgraduate program that allows students to enhance their knowledge in the Hindi subject. Basically, this is a language program that can be pursued in an online mode where students do not have to visit the university campus to attend classes. Under this program, students get to study the following subjects: Literary Criticism, Hindi Prose, History of Hindi Literature, Functional Hindi, Hindi Poetry, Linguistics, and more. Various specializations and other subjects in an Online MA in Hindi include Media Writing, Comparative Literature, Dalit Literature, Folklore, and more.
Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University is one of the most popular universities in Maharashtra, which offers distance learning programs. YCMOU does not offer an online MA in Hindi, but students can pursue an MA in Dindi in distance learning mode. However, the course subjects are the same as those of a regular program and are equivalent to an online and regular MA in Hindi. YCMOU is approved to offer a distance MA in Hindi by the University Grants Commission Distance Education Bureau (UGC-DEB). Additionally, YCMOU has achieved an “A” grade accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

The eligibility criteria to enrol in any program, students need to fulfill all the eligibility criteria set by that institution or university. Below are the basic eligibility criteria that are required to enroll in a distance MA in Hindi at YCMOU:
- Students must have completed their undergraduate program from a recognized university.
- They must have completed their undergraduate program with a minimum percentage of 50%
- Students who fall into the reserved categories have their total percentage relaxed by an extra 5%. Thus, they need to secure 45% in their UG program.
- The program does not have an age restriction.
First of all, YCMOU does not offer any online MA in Hindi program, but offers distance MA in Hindi. The duration of this program is a 2-year program, however, some universities provide additional 1-2 additional years to complete the program.
