  • A Master’s degree in a relevant branch of Science with a First Class and a valid GATE score, UGC/CSIR-JRF qualification, or an equivalent fellowship.

  • A B.Tech. degree from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) with a minimum CPI of 7.0.
  • A Master’s degree in Science, Engineering, Environmental Science, or International Business with a First Class, along with a valid UGC-JRF qualification or equivalent fellowship.

1. For General and OBC Categories:
   • A minimum of 60% marks in aggregate, or as specified by the university/institute.
   • A CPI/CGPA of 6.0 on a 10-point scale (or proportional values, e.g., 4.8 on an 8-point scale).
2. For SC/ST Categories:
   • A minimum of 55% marks in aggregate, or as specified by the university/institute.
   • A CPI/CGPA of 5.5 on a 10-point scale (or proportional values, e.g., 4.4 on an 8-point scale).
3. Other Cases:
   • If the university or institute specifies "First Class," their definition will apply.

What is the Procedure for admission to the IIT Indore PhD Program? 

You need to follow the below-written steps to apply to:

• Visit the official IIT Indore application portal
• Fill out and submit your online application.
• Download and Mail a Hard Copy 
• Download the printed form after the successful online submission of your application.
• Ensure to sign on the printout and attach the following:
• Demand Draft (DD) for the application fee amount of ₹800, payable to "Registrar, IIT Indore" at Indore.
• Recent passport-size photograph.
• Self-attested copies of supporting certificates and documents.
• Mail the Documents through Post
• Send the hard copy of the application form along with the required documents to the following correspondence address.
• Clear application details on the envelope.

Important Notes:

• The online submitted and received in hardcopy applications will be processed only.
• Applications submitted online without the hard copy will not be considered.
• The application received after the cut-off date and is not eligible for the program will be rejected.

• The fee is ₹800 which the applicant needs to pay by Demand Draft.

What are the PhD Program fees at IIT Indore?

The tuition fee is INR 5,000 per semester, along with other charges like examination fees (INR 350), registration fees (INR 200), and medical fees (INR 1,000). Dining in the mess adds INR 11,115 per semester. New students have to pay one-time admission and security deposits while returning students only pay for the semester fees. Already paid INR 5,000?
