MAT Exam Conducting Body: For over two decades, the All India Management Association (AIMA) has been the conducting body for scheduling the MAT Exam, and it can be considered the most appropriate platform for selecting applicants for management studies. 

MAT Examination Mode: The MAT Examination has two modes: Computer-Based Test (CBT) and Paper-based test (PBT). In addition, the CBT test can be scheduled twice, while the PBT test can only be scheduled once.

  • CBT- It is recognized as the Computer Based Test which is conducted through online mode. The candidates can solve this paper on a computer screen.
  • PBT- It is recognized as the Paper Based Test which is conducted through offline mode. The candidates can solve this paper through paper via an OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) sheet.

MAT Exam Frequency: Every year, the MAT Exam has a scheduling time of four times, which follows in February, May, September, and December. And, in the given months, there are 3 modes of exam scheduling in the format of CBT - 1, PBT, and CBT - 2. Applicants for this exam can register for this exam on different dates for all the exams.

MAT Exam Duration: The AIMA allows 2 hours or 120 minutes to complete the exam, which is divided into 5 sections and offers a certain time limit for each section. 

MAT Exam 2024 Eligibility Criteria

AIMA makes some eligibility criteria for taking the MAT Entrance exam, which an applicant must follow, mentioned below; read it in detail:

Age Limit- No specific age limit to appear in the MAT Exam 2024.

Nationality- All over India and as well as abroad, people can be an applicants for the MAT Exam to pursue management studies.

Qualifications- 

  • Have completed graduation from a recognized university with scores of more than 45% to 50%. 
  • Also, MAT test takers are allowed to appear in the exam if they are in the final year of the exam. 

Work Experience- No requirement for any work experience in the MAT Exam, but if you have, it can be considered while taking admission in the management programs.

In the MAT Exam, one must ensure that you are familiar with what is coming in the MAT Exam 2024; for that, one must understand the MAT Exam pattern, which is as follows:

MAT 2024 Application Process

Test takers can fill out the MAT Examination Application through online mode. To do this, there are some steps that a test taker must pursue, consider the steps:

Step 1: Registration

Open the official page of the AIMA (https://www.aima.in/) and tap on the “Apply online” tab. After that, complete the registration by adding the basic information of Date of Birth, Name, Qualifications, education-related information, Contact details, or more reliable required information.

Step 2: Fill out the MAT Application Form

After registration, log in using your required credentials. Then, complete the MAT application form by adding academic, personal, and contact information.

Step 3: Exam Selection Mode

After that, you may select the MAT exam mode from Computer-Based Test or Paper-Based Test. Select any date that is preferable to you. Choose the date and exam mode that suits your preparation and convenience. 

Step 4: MAT Application Fee

After adding reliable details to the MAT Application, move to the payment page, and pay INR 2100 for the CBT/ PBT test while paying INR 3600 for the PBT + CBT or CBT + CBT test. The payment can be completed through using Net banking, Credit card, Debit card, or more payment details.

Step 5: Submit the MAT Application

Review the MAT application form to check the details, and after that, move to submit the application form and download or print the confirmation page of the MAT application form. 

Step 6: Download the Admit Card

The MAT Exam Admit Card will be released for the CBT—1 test on December 3, 2024, the PBT test on December 10, 2024, and the CBT—2 test on December 18, 2024. Applicants can download their Admit Cards and take them to their exam dates.
