Is an Entrance Exam Conducted For MTech Space Technology?
WILP MTech Space Technology provided by many universities doesn’t conduct any screening test. On the contrary, some premium colleges at the national and state levels ask for the entrance exam GATE score for admission to MTech in Space Technology.
- GATE: GATE stands for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. This is a national-level entrance exam for admission to the post-graduation engineering program at IITs/IISc and various universities and colleges across India. Furthermore, the exam is conducted every year in the month of February.
- Fees of MTech in Space Engineering : Quotation of the single amount for the MTech Space Technology specialization fees isn’t possible as the course is provided by private and government colleges. As a result, there is a sharp difference between the fees charged by the government and private universities. Usually, the amount ranges between Rs 28,400 to Rs. 5,00,000.
- Scholarship and Financial Assistance: To promote education, there the scholarships offered by the various universities and the government even for the post-graduation program. Those who can afford the fees and are unable to get admission to the inexpensive college providing the MTech Space Technology program can apply for the grants.

IIT Roorkee built the academic centre, “Centre for Space Science & Technology” to focus on the vision and mission of the ISRO. For admission, candidates have to qualify for the GATE entrance exam and top-ranked candidates are preferred by the institute. However, under the “Golden Girl Scheme”, female candidates are given direct admission if they are the first rank holder or gold medallist in an IIT or university ranked among 50 by NIRF.
The first requirement of MTech Space Technology Admission 2024 is that applicants must complete the graduation from a recognized university in the relevant domain. After that, they have to appear for the entrance exam. But, some universities allow enrollment without an entrance exam. If they don’t want to apply for the entrance exam, they have the choice to fill out the application form from those universities that don’t conduct entrance exams.

In India, Space Technology Engineers can work with ISRO, DRDO, and the Indian government whereas the door for the NASA and government US agencies is also open for candidates with the right skill sets.
The Space Technology program is two years full-time course. But there are universities that are approved and provide the hybrid mode of education for this PG course.
