What is the Admission Procedure after CUET 2024? Application criteria and CSAS Guidelines!

CUET Examination is done to get admission to the top Universities of India in undergraduate, postgraduate, and other doctoral programs. There are various courses in the arts, science, and commerce study fields. Many top central and state universities are included in CUET. Students are ready to appear for the examination and once, students clear the examination, they should have a clear idea of how to take admission in their favourite institute. What are the Steps after the CUET Examination?

There is a big dilemma in understanding the process to be followed after appearing for the CUET. Attempting the CUET is the first hurdle of the battle, the rest of the processes are a bit tricky and in this tech world where information is spread everywhere, make sure to follow the right guidance. Here we have summarised the whole admission process for you right after the entrance examination.

Step 1- Results of CUET

The examination is very competitive and requires a lot of hard work. Right after the examination, students have to wait for the results. Keep checking the official website of the University and the other updates. The result will be updated on the NTA website. The results will be released on the website- cuet.samarth.ac.in. NTA releases the results only on the website and releases a notification before it. 

Step 2- Download Scorecard

The scorecard will be released right after the notification. Take the print of the scorecard; for this, you have to log in to the portal with the correct credentials and open your portal. The results will be available there. You can download and take the print for further future reference.

Step 3- Select the Universities participating in the CUET

Check the universities participating in the CUET to get enrolled in the undergraduate, or other postgraduate course. For this, they can visit the official website of the NTA and check the list. As per the updates, CUET has many central, state, private, public, deemed, and other universities. It also lists some of the top institutes like the University of Delhi, Jamia Milia Islamia, Aligarh Muslim University, Jawaharlal Nehru University and many other top institutes. Candidates are required to fill out the application form for the universities and institutes in which they are interested the most. Every University will release its cutoff and marks for each course and programme. The students will have to check their eligibility criteria before applying to the universities.

Step 4- Fill out the forms of top selected universities

Once you check all the eligibility criteria of the universities and other important details. The cutoff will be released separately for each course. But there are certain steps that students have to follow. First, make a mindful decision and select the course and the college. Fill in all the basic details there. You will be allotted a seat only if your marks are under the cutoff range. 

  • If you get a seat in your desired course and college you will get the offer letter from the same institute.
  • If you get various options you can select the best suit for you. Do not hurry with the selection of the right college for you. 

Step 5- Participate in Online Counselling

The counselling is not conducted by NTA. It is conducted by individual universities and institutes. So visit the official websites of the universities you want to take admission to. And then, keep checking the website and notices over it. Students have to fill out the counselling form of each university solely. There are some essential steps of counselling:-

  • Choice Fillings
  • Choice Locking
  • Results of the Allotment of Seats
  • Uploading of the documents 
  • Seat confirmation
  • Fee Submission

Step 6- Upload relevant documents

After selection authorities will ask for the essential documents. You have to submit the following documents after set confirmation.

  • Class 10th Certificate with name, Date of birth and parent’s name of Candidate.
  • Class 12th Marksheet
  • Caste Certificate in the name of the candidate(If applicable)
  • EWS Certificate(If required)
  • Other documents(if asked by the University)

All the documents submitted by you will be verified by the authorities of the institute and the university. Also, submit the authorised and original documents to the institute to get admission without any hassle.

Step 7- Seat allotment and Fee submission

If the students meet the eligibility criteria of the university, they get the seat. Right after the seat allotment, lock and freeze the seat. Make sure to lock the seat, otherwise, you will float and the seat will be allotted to another student. If you want to wait to get the desired college. After you get the seat, pay the fee for the program and you will get the offer letter from the institute.

CSAS Guidelines of the University of Delhi

CSAS known as the Common Seat Allocation System of DU is a process that helps students get admission to undergraduate, postgraduate and other courses in various colleges of DU. The University of Delhi has north-campus, south-campus and off-campus colleges. Nearly all these colleges of the University of Delhi have rankings and hold a good reputation. 

  • Fill in the essential entries like the personal section, Academic details, sports section and others(if required).
  • In the personal section fill in the details correctly as they cannot be altered later. Details like the parent’s name, caste or category, gender, mobile number number, email ID and bank details. 
  • Upload all the relevant documents in the correct size and format. Check the official website for notifications and guidelines. 
  • Fill in all your required preferences in online mode. The seats allotted in the colleges will solely depend on the marks in CUET 2024. For the students applying through performance-based/practical-based programs/Sports Proficiency-based/ECA & Sports Supernumerary Quotas, the seat will be allotted through CUET marks and performance Tests.
  • Preview all the details and submit the form.
  • While selecting a program and college preference always be alert and updated about it. Check all the eligibility criteria, and refer to the program list offered,  fee structure, seat matrix, and other important details.
  • It is advised to check the schedule of the admission and seat allocation. Only the candidates with a CUET Scorecard of the same year are eligible to participate in the CSAS process. 
  • It is advised to check your dashboard regularly for any updates and information. 
  • The seats will be allotted based on the availability of the seats concerning the preferences of course+ college filled by the candidates, and the ranks of the candidates in the CUET 2024.
  • Once the seat is allotted, students get the chance to freeze or upgrade the seat, for a better option. Candidates choosing upgrade options are eligible for the subsequent rounds in the counselling and seat allocation. Once the students opt for the freeze option, they will not be allowed to get an upgrade.
  • After the seat allotment, submit the fee as stated by the college. Later, the offer letter will be awarded to the students.
