Cyber Security Salary – Beginners and Experienced (2024)

Hackers use extremely advanced technologies for their crimes, hence it becomes difficult to tackle such situations as well as track down these criminals. Hence, experts better than these hackers are needed to protect organisations from cyber attacks.

It has been observed that there are many IT professionals in every country but very few venture into the field of Cyber Security. This makes the cyber security profession one of the most in-demand career options. Since the demand is high, the pay is lucrative. The better company you join, the better allowances and bonuses you will get. However, you can rest assured about landing a job in a good company as these are quite in-demand jobs and hence companies tend to offer good salary packages to the employees

Apart from a good company, there is another factor that greatly affects the salary of a cyber security professional. It is the EXPERIENCE. Two professionals with the same job title in the same company might have different salary structures based on only the difference in their work experience. As already said, cyber security is a skill-based domain, hence work experience becomes the most important factor when it comes to salary. Read: Cyber Security Courses Online

The next factor when it comes to not just cyber security jobs but any technical job is the academic qualifications. It is indeed important to have relevant education or certifications to be able to get good jobs in any field. However, again cyber security job recruitments are more based on your practical knowledge.

Even if you have a relevant degree in cyber security from a reputed institution, if you can not apply those theories to practice, then that degree is of no use. Therefore, yes a background in relevant subjects is important to an extent, but if you can prove your skills then with a few certifications you do have a good chance at this career.
