Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology and Research Academy (SASTRA) is a deemed-to-be university of Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu that was established in 1984. The university provides a number of courses to students at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels in a number of fields across humanities, commerce and sciences.
The university has now started providing its highly sought courses in the fully online mode as well to enable a larger number of students to take up higher education. The university has the approval of UGC-DEB for providing fully online courses and has been rated by NAAC as an A++ institution. Additionally, it has been ranked among the top 25 universities of India by NIRF.
