But b.tech is a technical program that needs theoretical as well as practical knowledge, and practical knowledge needs face to face regular classes. So as per the supreme court order and AICTE guidelines b.tech distance education is invalid. It cannot be pursued just online.

AICTE Policy On Distance Education

As per the Supreme Court’s decision, distance BTech is termed as invalid. The Supreme Court clearly mentioned in its order that B Tech Distance education is not valid and cannot be allowed by any university or institute.

The Supreme Court came up with the conclusion that the B.tech curriculum has practical subjects that hold importance and needs to be done in the regular classes. So this led to a declaration of invalidity of distance Btech by the Supreme Court.

Following the SupremeCourt’s order, AICTE and UGC have also declared Btech distance education as invalid. The Supreme Court ordered that without AICTE approval no college or university can run Btech courses.
