What is the MAT Percentile? What is the Difference Between MAT Scores and Percentile?

MAT Examination percentile is the percentage of the total number of examinees that have appeared in the MAT examination. While the MAT Composite score is just the

Representation of the individual score but MAT percentile is the evaluation of an individual’s performance with respect to all the candidates who appeared in the examination. But do you know what is the relevance of MAT Precentile? Let's see here:-

  • MAT percentile is the most accepted score by most of the institutes and colleges to offer admission to PGDM or MBA scores, however, some institutes accept the CAT Score.
  • Apart from this MAT Examination, many top Business Schools conduct written ability tests, PI and group discussions for selection in courses.

MAT 2023 Score vs Percentile Calculation

Here is the formula to calculate the overall percentile in the MAT entrance examination.

MAT Percentile = (MAT Composite Scores by candidate/ Total Examinees in the examination)*100

MAT Result 2023

MAT Score Limitations

MAT scores are accepted by most of the excellent b-schools across India, but they also have certain limitations in the application and consideration for admission in some scenarios as

  • They do not necessarily measure all the skills of the candidate that are essential in postgraduate studies.
  • These scores do not involve any psychometric tests, hence it is of no use for psychometric purposes.
