MAT Score (Marks) V/S Percentile [Expected Cutoff In 2023]

MAT Entrance Examination is conducted by AIMA(All Management Association Management Aptitude Test) to offer admission to (Top B-Schools)Business Schools for admission to business programs like MBA and other related programs. In 2023, this examination was approved by the Government of India, Ministry of Education as India’s national-level test. And later this examination was recognised as an essential input for admission to MBA and other related courses in more than 600 Top B-Schools in India. The examination is conducted in 

• IBT MODE(Internet-Based Test)
• Computer Based Test(CBT)
• Paper Based Test(PBT)
• Remote Proctored Internet-Based Test and Paper-Based Test (PBT+IBT) 
• Double Proctored (IBT+IBT) 
• Double Computer Based Test (CBT+CBT)
• Remote Proctored Internet-Based Test and Computer-Based Test(CBT+IBT) 
• Computer Based Test and Paper Based Test(PBT+CBT)

The fee for applying for some additional tests in any of these modes mentioned here is Rs. 1200/- along with an additional amount of INR 2100/- Candidates can apply for any of these all these examinations will be done in the month of December 2023.

Important Highlights about MAT

• The Government of India has approved MAT Examination as a National level Test for admission to programs like MBA/PGDM/MMS and many more related programs.
• The acceptability of the MAT score is endorsed by the Delhi High Court and also by the Honourable Supreme Court.
• Due to its wide acceptance, more than 600 top B-Schools across India this examination is crucial and has a significant role in screening the candidates before admission.
• The examination is conducted in many modes- CBT, IBT and PBT.
• It is conducted 4 times a year in the month of February, May, September and December.
• Concession is provided to the candidates applying in two modes of entrance examination. Also, the students are eligible to apply in multiple administrations.
• The score is valid only for up to one year and the best scores will be accepted from the multiple shifts.
• It is an essential examination and every year various students from all around the country apply for this examination. 
• MAT Examination is an objective type that tests the overall aptitude skills of the students to help them get into the top B-schools for postgraduate management programs.

MAT Composite Score?

MAT Composite Score consists of the marks that students score based solely on their performance in the MAT examination. MAT Composite scores do not sum up the marks in the 5th section, which is Indian & Global Environment. There is no formula for getting MAT Composite marks. It will be scaled from 199 to 801. It is rare to have MAT Composite scores below 200 or above 800.

MAT Examination percentile is the percentage of the total number of examinees that have appeared in the MAT examination. While the MAT Composite score is just the

MAT scores are accepted by most of the excellent b-schools across India, but they also have certain limitations in the application and consideration for admission in some scenarios as 

• They do not necessarily measure all the skills of the candidate that are essential in postgraduate studies. 
• These scores do not involve any psychometric tests, hence it is of no use for psychometric purposes.
