MBA is the field that youths most seek after. MBA is a course that offers students business and marketing knowledge.

The general eligibility criteria for enrollment in the MBA program is to score 50% and above or have an equivalent CGPA upon graduation from a recognised university.

There is a benefit that students from any stream and discipline are fully eligible to pursue this program.

In the case of MBA admissions, the candidate must have to take the entrance examinations, interviews, group discussions and many more. The cutoff of each entrance examination is different and varies from college to college.

MBA common eligibility is the same for all types of MBA. However,  there are certain relaxations given to the SC/ST/ PwD/ OBC students that are offered 5% relaxation in graduation.

  • The candidate must have scored 60% marks in the graduation for the general category and 55% marks for the reserved category. 
  • Candidates who are in their final year of graduation are also eligible to apply.

FMS New Delhi

  • The candidates must have a bachelor's degree in any discipline with 50% marks. 
  •  Candidates who are in their final year of graduation are also eligible to apply.
  • There is no age limit to take admission. 

IIFT New Delhi 

  • The candidates must have a bachelor's degree in any discipline with 50% marks. 
  • The candidate must have passed 10+2 from a recognised board. 
  • There is no age limit to apply for the program. 

XLRI Jamshedpur

  • Candidates must have a bachelor's degree with at least 50% marks. 
  • Candidates completing graduation by June are also eligible. 

MDI Gurgaon

  • The candidate must complete 4 years of bachelor's degree in any discipline after 10+2 examinations from a recognised board. 
  • The candidate must have scored 50% in the graduation. 
  • Candidates in their final year of graduation can also apply. They must complete the graduation by June and must provide all evidence by October. 
  • To enrol in PGDM-IB, the candidate must have one year of work experience. 

IGNOU

  • The candidate must appear and qualify for the OPENMAT IGNOU examination that is conducted by NTA. 
  • The candidate must be passed in any discipline including chartered accountancy, company secretaryship, and cost accountancy, with at least 50% marks for the general category. 
  • No age bar is set for applying for the IGNOU MBA program. 

IPU New Delhi

  • Candidate must have passed graduation from any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks in the graduation. 
  • The candidate must have passed the CAT examination cutoff and also must have passed other entrance examinations if necessary. 
  • The age of the candidate should not be beyond 35 years. 

Christ University, Bangalore

  • The candidate must be a graduate from any stream with 50% aggregate marks. 
  • Candidate must appear in the entrance examination and must clear the cutoff. 

Symbiosis Pune 

  • Candidate must have completed graduation from a recognised university with an aggregate 50% marks. 
  • Students in the final year of graduation can also apply for the entrance examination. 

SPJIMR Mumbai 

  • Candidate must have passed graduation with 50% aggregate marks in the examination. 
  • Students in the final year waiting for the results can also apply. They must submit their provisional certificate till they get their final mark sheet. 
  • The candidate must also apply for the entrance examination and must clear the cutoff.

MBA Eligibility In IIMs and IITs 

  • The candidates must have passed their 10+2 class with an aggregate of 60% marks in any discipline from a recognised board. 
  • The candidate must have completed graduation with at least 50% aggregate marks in any discipline from a recognised university and institute. The candidate from the reserved category will get 5% relaxation, belonging to the ST/SC/ OBC category.

  • The candidate must have to clear the entrance examinations like CAT and GMAT(Graduate Management Admission Test) that are conducted for international students. 
  • The candidates shortlisted in the entrance examination are called for the group discussion round and the personal interview round. 
  • The average fees for pursuing an MBA course in IIMs range between INR 8,00,000 to INR 25,00,000. 

MBA Eligibility Criteria In IGNOU 

  • Candidates willing to get admission to the IGNOU MBA must take the entrance examination that is OPENMAT is conducted by the National Testing Agency(NTA)
  • Candidates looking to apply to the IGNOU MBA program must have completed a bachelor's degree from a recognised university with 50% aggregate marks for the general category and 45% marks for reserved category students. 
  • The candidates must have passed a 10+2 level of education from a recognised board with 50% marks. 
  • The average fee for pursuing an MBA from IGNOU ranges around INR 18,900 per year.

The eligibility criteria to get admission to MBA universities and colleges by entrance examinations are below:

1) CAT (Common Admission Test) 

  • If you want to enrol in the CAT entrance examination you must have passed graduation from a recognised university with at least 50% marks in any discipline. The passing percentage for reserved category students is 45% marks at least.
  •  There is no age bar to take this entrance examination, you can apply at any age for this examination. Candidates can apply for the examination anytime as there is no limit set to take the entrance examination. 

2) XAT (Xavier Aptitude Test) 

  • If you want to appear in this examination, you must have completed 3 years of graduation degree with 50% marks from a recognised university. 
  • There is no age bar set to appear in this examination. You can appear in the entrance examination anytime and as many times as you want. 

3) CMAT (Common Management Admission Tes) 

  • CMAT or Common Management Admission Test is a national-level entrance examination that is conducted by the National Testing Agency every year for admissions to the business and management colleges approved by AICTE. 
  • Candidates must have completed a 10+2+3 bachelor's degree from any discipline can apply for the CMAT examination. 
  • The students in the final years of bachelor's can also apply for the examination. 
  • Only the candidates with Indian Citizenship can apply for the examination. 
  • There is no age bar set for the examination, you can take CMAT at any age. 

4) GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test)

  • The Graduate Management Admission Test or GMAT is the entrance examination that is conducted to admit students in business and management schools globally. 
  • The candidates must have basic education qualifications from any recognised institute. 
  • The candidates also must have a valid passport. 
  • The applicant should be at least 18 years of age while applying for the GMAT examination. They must also possess a no- no-objection certificate issued from the guardians. 
  • You can appear for the examination 5 times a year and 8 times a lifetime. 

5) ATMA (AIMS Test for Management School)

  • ATMA(AIMS Test for Management School) is also a national-level entrance examination. This entrance examination is conducted to give admission to the students to MBA/PGDM courses. 
  • The candidate must have completed the graduation with an aggregate of 50% marks from a recognised university in any discipline. 
  • The applicants in the final year of graduation can also apply for the ATMA. 
  • The candidate applying for the entrance must be an Indian Citizen. 
  • Also, there is a certain age bar set for the examination. The candidate must be 21 years of age at the time of the exam. 

6) MAH CET (Maharashtra Common Entrance Exam)

  • MAH CET is a state-level entrance examination conducted by DTE Maharashtra for admissions to the colleges offering MBA in Maharashtra. 
  • The candidate must have three years of graduation in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks from a recognised university. 
  • The students in their final year of graduation can also apply for the MAH CET. 
  • There is a 5% relaxation for candidates from reserved categories, persons with disability and candidates belonging to Maharashtra. 
  • The candidates of the reserved category must possess the caste validity certificate issued by the Social Welfare Department’s scrutiny Committee. 

7) TANCET (Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test)

  • TANCET is the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test, this examination is conducted by the Anna University of Chennai for admission to the MBA program in Tamil Nadu. 
  • The candidates applying for this particular entrance examination must hold a bachelor’s degree with 50% marks or equivalent in any discipline from a recognised university. 
  • The applicants who have completed regular graduation degrees are eligible for the entrance examination. 

8) SNAP (Symbiosis National Aptitude Test)

  • Symbiosis National Aptitude Test(SNAP) is a national-level entrance examination that is conducted by Symbiosis to get admission to the MBA program. 
  • Candidates must have completed a bachelor's degree from a recognised university with 50% aggregate marks in any discipline, and there is a relaxation of 5% marks for the candidates from the reserved category. 
  • The candidates who apply after getting a degree from a recognised foreign university must have a certificate of equivalence from the Association of Indian Universities(AIU). 
  • You can apply for the SNAP exam at any age as there is no age limit. 
  • For some MBA programs, the candidate must also require work experience. 

9) IGNOU OPEN MAT

  • To get admission to the IGNOU, the candidates are required to take the OPENMAT entrance examination. This examination will be conducted in September. 
  • The candidate must have completed the graduation degree from a recognised university with 50% marks in any discipline. 
  • Students from Chartered Accountancy/Cost Accountancy/Company Secretaryship course can also apply for the OPENMAT. 
  • There is no age limit to apply for the examination. 

MBA Eligibility Criteria Abroad 

MBA is offered by the top universities from abroad in many specialisations. The candidates looking to pursue an MBA from foreign universities must follow certain eligibility criteria. 

  • Candidates looking to have admission to a foreign university must have completed a bachelor's degree with an aggregate score of 50% from a recognised university in any discipline.

  • The candidates must also take the entrance examination for the language proficiency test.

  • Candidates looking to pursue an MBA from the University of Canada must have completed undergraduate from the same field with at least 78% marks from a recognised university. 
  •  You also have to take the English language proficiency Test to show your English proficiency. 
  • For admissions to Top MBA Colleges in Canada, one must also be required to take the GMAT entrance examination.

  • Candidates must have completed their under graduation in the relevant field with at least 78% marks from a recognised university. 
  • The candidates must take the examinations like GRE and GMAT.

  • Applicants applying must have completed the graduation from a recognised university.
