Charotar University of Science and Technology was established in 2000 by a non-profit educational trust initially, it was started as a single institution, and at that time it was known as  Charotar Institute of Technology, Changa (CITC). But at present it is Chandubhai S Patel Institute of Technology (CSPIT) established under Section 22 of the UGC Act 1956. The university is situated in Gujarat, India, and has earned a prominent place in the top-ranking institutions. 

When the university was started, it offered only 4 programs and only 240 students were enrolled in these programs at that time, but now the university offers 70+ programs and more than 7500 students are pursuing these courses from CHARUSAT University. The university got its name in 2009, and its name honors the region Charotar i.e.the golden land. 

The CHARUSAT University is known for imparting quality education and the institution came up with the new initiative to digitalize education for students who are willing to pursue their higher studies from remote areas and students who do not have proper facilities, to overcome these problems faced by Indian students Charotar University of Science and Technology Online was started.

The CHARUSAT Online offers various undergraduate programs under its online education department and for better future aspects of students the university offers a highly accessible LMS, study material with revised curriculum, placement assistance, and many other essential facilities that are indeed needed by a student during their academic life. The university is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and accredited with Grade “A”.
