The D. Y. Patil University, Deemed to be University is a well-reputed and renowned university situated in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra which was established in 2002 under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act. The University is named after Dr. Dnyandeo Yashwantrao Patil (DY Patil) who was a famous Indian politician, educationist, and philanthropist.

The University offers various undergraduate and postgraduate programs in different specializations such as management, marketing, finance, tourism, hospitality, and many more. 

DYPU Online is approved by the Unversity Grants Commission (UGC) and AICTE All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), and accredited with grade A++ by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

To financially assist students the university accepts loans from all the major banks in the country but there are no EMI options from the university. There are a few scholarships, students can apply for them according to their eligibility criteria. Some of them are:

• SC/ST/SBS and other minority students can avail of the 100% tuition Fee Waiver.
• OBC category students can avail of a 50% tuition fee waiver through the EBC scheme.
• Open-category students get a 50% tuition fee waiver.
• All the government scholarships are also available at the university.

The examination pattern followed at the Dr. D.Y. Patil Vidyapeeth Online Program is very basic and the most commonly opted examination pattern and exams are conducted transparently. The university follows a semester pattern under which every semester is subdivided into two major components: Term End Semester Examination (TESE) and Internal Assessment Evaluation (IAE) and the weightage of marks they carry is 70% and 30% respectively. 

The initial assessment includes assignments, that are assigned to every individual at the beginning of every semester to evaluate the practical understanding of the student, whereas end-term examinations are conducted to evaluate the overall theoretical understanding of the program by a student.
