KARE (Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Higher Education) which has been granted the status of deemed-to-be-Univerity.  It was formerly known by the name Arulmigu Kalasalingam College of Engineering. It was established in 1984 through Kalvivallal Thiru T. Kalasalingam, the founder chairman of the trust Kalasalingam and Anandam Ammal Charities. He was a freedom fighter and a very famous Philanthropist. The University Campus is beautifully located around the Western Ghats of the state of Tamil Nadu at Kalasalingam. In the year 2006, it gained the status of Deemed-to-be-University, and after years-long hard work, and efforts today, the university has gained many recognitions and accreditations. 

The University is now offering various undergraduate and postgraduate courses to the students. It has programs online, regular, and in distance mode. The students can apply as per the requirements and eligibility criteria. The University offers disciplines like Engineering, Science & Technology & other humanities courses. Also, the Universities have accreditations from higher and recognized institutions like NAAC A grade and an excellent CGPA of 3.11. Out of all the programs, 6 courses are accredited by NBA(Tier-1), With the help of DST funding provided it established the National Center for Advance Research in Discrete Mathematics.
