Jamia Milia Islamia, deemed to be a University, was initially founded in the United Indian Province, Aligarh by some of the top reformers and the freedom fighters of Indian Independence like Maulana Mohammed Ali Jauhar, Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad Ansari, Hakim Ajmal Khan, Dr. Zakir Husain, Mahatma Gandhi, and Maulana Abul Kalam Azad in the year 1920.
Later, in 1988, it came to be known as India’s Central University. It was shifted to the capital Delhi and got the status of Deemed to be University by the University Grants Commission. For many years the University is offering quality education with excellence and dedication to students from all over India. And later the University came up with a new initiative and started providing many programs in both distance & regular mode.
