Sharda University was established in 1996 and today it is the largest educational group located in Uttar Pradesh. It offers various undergraduate postgraduate, diploma, and other certificate courses in online and regular modes. This institute consists of more than 13,000 students and more than 900 teachers and other faculty members. 

The University has various campuses in Agra, Greater Noida, and Mathura. Its main campus is spread over 180 acres of land with a 3.5 million square feet infrastructure. The University is approved by the University Grants Commission, under the UGC Act 1956. It is a full-fledged University and not just a deemed University. Also, the University is approved by the State Legislature of Uttar Pradesh.

Currently, it is offering 130+ programs at undergraduate and postgraduate levels through departments like Engineering and Technology, Basic Sciences and Research, Agricultural Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences, Allied Health Sciences, Design, Architecture and planning, Nursing Science and research, Media, Film and Entertainment, Law, Medical Sciences & Research, Dental Sciences, Pharmacy, and Education. 

As per the National Institutional Ranking Framework, the University is ranked 87th in the University Category. In the Management category, it is ranked 101-125th rank, in engineering rank it is ranked 150-200 position, and in pharmacy, it is ranked 62nd.
