About Alagappa University Distance Education
The Institute has around 44 departments and more than 44 affiliated colleges, that offer undergraduate and postgraduate programs majorly in four faculties, say Arts, Science, Management and education. Alagappa University started its initiative of providing courses to students throughout India and extending the scope of providing education to each group of people be it women, people deprived of facilities, or working professionals who want to enhance their skills.
In the year 1992, the University established the DDE(Directorate of Distance Education) & in 2018 it came up with the Directorate of Online Programmes Finally in 2021 the University founded Academic programmes. Both Online Learning (OL) and Open and Distance Learning programs were offered by CDOE.
The Department of Open and Distance Learning (ODL) offers 16 Undergraduate and 43 postgraduate programs and till 2022, more than 2 lakh students enrolled in the program. While the Online Wing of the University offered 3 Undergraduate and 5 postgraduate programs. More than 2 thousand students have been enrolled in these programs.
