About Jamia Millia Islamia Distance Education
The University grew as one of India's best Universities today located in the Capital of India, Delhi. The status of ‘Deemed to be University’ was given to the University in 1963, by the University Grants Commission Act. The founding members of the University were, Maulana Mohammed Ali Jauhar, Hakim Ajmal Khan, Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad Ansari, Mahatma Gandhi, Dr. Zakir Husain, and Maulana Abul Kalam Azad.
Jamia Millia Islamia, or JMI, was established in 1920, originally at Aligarh, it aroused during the struggling period of independence for India during the non-cooperation movement when people started to boycott the British Supported Universities and other educational institutes, and in 1988, it became India’s Central University. The University offers quality education to the students and has credentials from the top institutions like NAAC A++ Ranking, ranked 3rd Given to the University by NIRF, the National Institutional Ranking Framework to all the grades of education be it schooling, undergraduate, postgraduate, or any other research subject.
The University offers placement support to the students, a dedicated placement cell has been appointed to help students with better job opportunities. FedEx, Gartner, HDFC Bank, Tech Mahindra, ITC, KPMG, Honda, OYO, Vedantu, Hindustan Times, and many more companies are placement partners of the University. It has some well-established faculties like Engineering and Technology, Law; Dentistry, Architecture and Ekistics, Education, Humanities and Languages, and many more.
There are many well-maintained centers like; the Academy of International Studies; The Centre for Peace and Conflict Resolution; Dr. K.R. Narayanan Centre for Dalit and Minorities Studies; the Centre for Culture, Media, and Governance; FTK Centre for Information Technology; the Centre for Nano-sciences and Nanotechnology; Centre for West Asian Studies; Centre for Management Studies; Centre for Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Sciences; Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Basic Sciences, and Centre for Theoretical Physics; etc.
