Education Modes/Type of MBA courses

MBA is a two-year postgraduate program that is offered by top and reputed universities. The MBA is divided into 4 to 6 semesters. In an MBA, the candidate ae enrolled in the internship in the first year.

In the first year of the MBA candidates get taught the core subjects while in the second year of the MBA candidates learn about the main subjects of MBA specialisation opted.

Regular MBA degree course 
  • MBA is a full-time two-year program that can be pursued in on-campus mode and is divided into 6 semesters.

MBA Distance Education
  • MBA can also be pursued in distance mode.

Online MBA

MBA diploma courses
  • These programs are commonly called PGDM or PGP courses.

  • The universities are allowed to offer diplomas and degrees, while institutions can only offer diplomas. 
Part Time MBA

  • Both government and private institutions offer Part-time MBAs.

Executive MBA for Working Professionals 
  • This program is well-suited for working professionals with at least three years of work experience. 
  • The duration of the program is mostly 15-18 months and includes physical classes.

5-year integrated MBA 
  • This is a five-year program that includes both undergraduate and postgraduation. 
  • The candidate must have passed the 10+2 level of education from an accredited board.

Eligibility Criteria

Full-Time MBA courses 
  • Candidates must have pursued graduation with 50% marks in any stream or equivalent from a recognised university. 
  • For the unreserved category, the candidate must score 50% marks in the qualifying degree while for SC/ ST/ and other reserved categories the passing mark is 45%. 
  • Final-year students and professionals with CA/ICWAI/CS and other program degrees can also apply to the program. 
  • Entrance examination is mandatory to be cleared. 
Distance MBA program
  • There is no need to appear in the entrance examination, the candidates can take admission based on the marks. However, some universities take entrance examinations. 
  • Candidates with a bachelor's degree from a recognised university with at least 50% marks can enrol in a distance MBA program. 
  • There is no age criteria. You can enrol at any age in this program. 
Online MBA course
  • There are no entrance examinations and courses can be pursued from the top and recognised universities and institutes. The candidates are required to give an interview if asked by the university/ institute. 
  • You can also enrol in examinations like CAT, MAT, and XAT for better chances of enrolment in the top universities. 
  • Candidates must have some work experience for an Online MBA. 
Executive MBA course 
  • Bachelor’s degree is mandatory from a recognised university/ institute to enrol in this course. 
  • The candidate must have work experience.

XAT  Xavier Aptitude Test This examination is conducted by XLR- Xavier School of Management and is accepted for admission by many top universities. 
SNAP  Symbiosis National Aptitude Test  The entrance examination is conducted by Symbiosis International which is deemed to be a university. These examination scores are used to give admission to the students in Symbiosis. 
CMAT  Common Management Admission Test  This examination is also conducted to give admission to the candidates in the MBA course and this is conducted by the NTA(National Testing Agency).
GMAT  Graduate Management Admission Test This is an internationally recognised entrance examination. The entrance score of this examination can be used to apply to MBA courses at foreign Universities. 

How to prepare for the MBA Entrance Examination?

The candidates must have to do hard work to succeed in the MBA entrance examination. The competition is high and it is very crucial to do smart work as well as hard work.

  • Time Management- There are two to three sections in the MBA entrance examination and it is very crucial to do time management in the examination.
