What is the Full Form of B.Tech and BE Degree?
B.Tech stands for Bachelor in Technology whereas B.E. stands for Bachelor in Engineering. There are plenty of students who remain perplexed regarding B.Tech and B.E. because both these degrees almost seem similar, but this is not the case.
Both Bachelor in Technology and Bachelor in Engineering come with their own variation and significance. The key distinction between B.tech and B.E. in terms of study is that B.Tech focuses more on realistic application, while B.E. focuses more on theoretical knowledge applied to practical problems.
To clear the clutter, we would like to clarify that both B. Tech and B.E. degrees are not valid via distance learning mode. Students who keep wondering about distance B.Tech and distance B.E. should note that they need to admit themselves in the regular college to accomplish the passion for engineering.
B.Tech and BE: Clarity in Terminology
As considered by most of the population that both these courses are similar because they are unable to quote any difference. There is no point in having two exactly similar courses hence it is obvious that both these courses offer variations.
B.Tech is a short form of Bachelor Of Technology and it is an undergraduate course for the students who are willing to study the aspects of engineering especially hardware. This course deals with the technical aspects of Science.
B.E is a short form of Bachelor in Engineering and it is a UG course for the students who are willing to study the Engineering aspects of Science and it focuses more on the theoretical aspects of practical application.
The names of B.Tech and B.E. degrees signify the actual difference between them.

B.Tech and BE: Eligibility Criteria
Both B.Tech and B.E. degrees have most of the things in common and the eligibility criteria are also the same to a great extent.
The standard eligibility criteria of BE and B.Tech are:-
- Candidates must have passed the examinations of intermediate level of education or 10 + 2 from Science Streams or with subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics as core subjects.
- Candidates also need to secure at least 50% marks and this minimum percentile criterion also depends on the university.
B.Tech and BE: Duration
Although B.Tech and B.E. offer different subjects they both have the same duration and that is 4 years. Students can complete B.Tech/B.E. within 4 years and both these courses are in the semester mode, not in the yearly mode. Hence, students need to give exams after every semester and their entire curriculum will be divided into 8 semesters.

Can I do B.tech/BE from Distance Mode?
Distance B.Tech and distance B.E. are engineering courses that are available to you in a distance mode. Distance learning is available to students to make learning easily accessible for them so that students can work and learn at the same time.
However, students need to note that as per the University Grants Commission and the All India Council for Technical Education B.Tech is only available on the campus. Distance B.Tech or distance B.E. are not valid yet, but B.Tech for working professionals is valid and this is an evening program.
Henceforth, candidates who are working somewhere and want to pursue B.Tech can do this by enrolling themselves in the B.Tech for working professionals, and then they have to attend classes in the evening.
