U.P Rajarshi Tandon Open University

Uttar Pradesh Rajarshi Tandon Open University is a government university which was situated at Prayagraj and was established in 1999. The university was named after the female freedom fighter Rajarshi Purushottam Das Tandon born in Allahabad. The university has a separate department for distance education whose main objective is to offer distance education to students around the world who are not able to enroll in a regular degree due to their circumstances.

The examination process at the Uttar Pradesh Rajarshi Tandon Open University is divided into two major components, internal assessment and end-term examination. The internal assessment carries weightage of about 20-30% of the total evaluation of a semester and this may include the assignments, quizzes, and other educational activities that happen during an academic session in which a student has to participate. The end-term examination carries 70-80% of the weightage and evaluates the overall understanding of a student, which they have learned during an entire semester.
