About Kakatiya University Distance Education
Kakatiya University is situated in Warangal, the erstwhile seat of the Kakatiya rulers, and was established in 1976. Kakatiya University was formerly the Post-Graduate Centre of Osmania University and later on, it was renamed and upgraded. The online and distance learning platform of Kakatiya University was established in 1988, as a wing of Kakatiya University and named The School of Distance Learning & Continuing Education (SDLCE).

The School of Distance Learning & Continuing Education was considered to be a constituent college of Kakatiya College and functions according to the dual-mode university. The school has adopted the latest ways of teaching and learning according to the regulations of the UGC DEB. SDLCE is considered to be the largest online distance-learning institution in the dual mode of education in the state.
The School of Distance Learning & Continuing Education of Kakatiya University actively offers 30 programs, which combine UG and PG programs and currently 40,000+ students are enrolled among them.

Kakatiya University Distance Education Admission Process
To get enrolled at SDLCE, students have to follow the below-mentioned step:
Step 1- Interested students must visit the official website of the university.
Step 2- After visiting the official website of the university, students have to go through the website and check for any latest updates or notifications, if issued by the university regarding the admission process.
Step 3- If the admission portal is active on the website student have to fill out the form.
Step 4- While filling out the application form students must select the study center along with it.
Step 5- When the application form is filled out, attach the required documents with the application form.

Kakatiya University Distance Education Examination Pattern
The SDLCE has opted for the CBCS (Choice Based Credit System) system with a semester pattern, which slightly has a few changes for the ODL mode students. The SDLCE has given the leverage to their students, to submit assignments instead of internal assessments or tests of the university before the end-term examination. The university has decided the evaluation of these assignments and these assignments carry 20 marks and the end-term examination has 80% of the total weighted marks.
Note - For appearing at the exams students are required to have their hall tickets, which are issued at the university and on the official website of the university.

When I enrolled myself in the distance education of Kakatiya University, I thought just like other distance universities there will be no placement but after enrolling and researching a little bit, I figured out there is a dedicated placement cell for ot which resolves student's grievances in time. It helped e a lot throughout my academic journey.

There is a wide range of courses available at the university to choose from and initially I was about to enroll myself in B.Com (General) but after going through the offered program list and its details I opted B.Com (Computer), which is beneficial for my career.
