The University started its distance courses in 1995, with the aim to provide quality education to all students worldwide. This is done by forming various study centres all over India. Today this University has centres in metropolitan cities. There are many courses offered to the students in ODL Mode. Students can apply for Undergraduate, postgraduate and other diploma programmes at the University. BBA, BCom, BA, MBA and many more courses are available at this institute.

All these programs are recognised by the DEB, Distance Education Bureau. Also, it is approved by AICTE,(All India Council for Technical Courses). This University has its main centre in Pondicherry. There is some concession in the fee for the students lying in a specific category, like widows, transgender, prisoners, deserted women paramilitary forces and many more.

The University is catering for its students with high skills, and training through workshops and also by weekend classes, that help them in clearing up all their doubts. The application fee for the University is Rs 200/- which is non refundable. The application process for the admission is done only in online mode. The students can get concession and fee relaxation on some courses. Physically disables students can get 100% fee discount as well, But before admission it is advised  to carefully look at the university norms
