The School of Distance Education is a significant department of the University of Calicut, which is situated in Calicut, Kerala, and was established in 1981. The School of Distance Education was formerly known as the ‘Institute of Correspondence Courses and Continuing Education’.
The SDE is accomplishing all the hindrances in its way and setting an example for other universities in providing education to those who are unable to pursue further studies due to any circumstances. The university takes care of and considers the deprived and weaker sections of society and offers them education at an affordable price so that they can become a part of society and get a great career ahead.
The university offers revised and updated study material to the students and the SDE also offers financial aid to students who are from SC/ST/OBC category and don’t work in any private or government sector got an opportunity of financial assistance and in some cases, they do not have to pay any fee to the university and the students who have any disability are not required to submit their medical certificates.
