About Dr. BR Ambedkar Open University
Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University or earlier known as Andhra Pradesh Open University was established on 26th August 1982. It was the first Open University in India that offers various ug, pg and diploma courses in various study fields. The University works on the motto of ‘EDUCATION FOR ALL’. The programs that are offered by the Dr B.R. Ambedkar Open University are recognised by the UGC(University Grants Commission).
The Distance Education mode of the University has given success to the potential group of society like housewives, labours, policemen, farmers and many more. Such people earn a degree that helps them upgrade their skills and knowledge which enhances their career prospects.

Currently, they have more than 213 study centres that are present all around the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. With 23 regional coordination centres and around 14 centres for Women Students. The University has even study centres at the central prison as well like at Cherlapally, Rajahmundry, Warangal, Visakhapatnam, Nellore and Kadapa.
University has gained many achievements over the last three decades by being prestigious and irreplaceable in society. It gives access to many non-formal leaders to pursue undergraduate programmes. The admission process at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University is simple and can be done in simple steps. Here is the important information if you are looking to take admission to the university.
