The University of Madras was established in 1857 and is termed to be the mother university of all the oldest universities in the southern region of India, and for offering undergraduate, postgraduate, certificate, and diploma courses through ODL mode it initiated an entirely separate unit - Institute of Distance Education in 1981. The Institute of Distance Education is an IGC-DEB-approved distance education university and holds an experience of 25+ years in the correspondence education sector.
The Institute of Distance Education is situated in Tamil Nadu which is known to be state-of-the-art in educational services and that’s why the University of Madras’s Institute of Distance Education has been an ideal choice for every student.
