About Nalanda Open University
Nalanda Open University is unique and one of its kind as it is the only university in the state of Bihar that is offering a distance learning study program to students. It is one of the most highly prestigious universities. This institute was established in the year 1987 by an ordinance. Later the Bihar Legislature Nalanda Open University Act of 1995 was passed. This helped the University to get into the direct authority of the new Act.
The name of the University “Nalanda”, is taken from one of the famous Ancient Indian University that is Nalanda University. The University's main office is located in Patna, Bihar. Currently, the University is recognized by many organizations like DEC(Distance Education Council), the University Grants Commission, (UGC), Ministry of Human Resource & Development, Government of India.
The University provides better educational opportunities through different modes of education like correspondence mode. The University is spread over an area of 60,000 sq feet that is an examination center for more than 1000 students, has a state library that has 50,000 different titles, a computer lab of more than 300 computers, and a modern infrastructure.

The University removes hindrances for the students by being flexible in eligibility matters. This institute is very beneficial, especially for some specific categories of students, like housewives, elderly people, in-service personnel, and people residing in rural areas, who are socially discriminated people, and many more. Nalanda Open University Admission Process
The University gives admission to the students through a simple process. If you are looking to be admitted to the courses listed above, follow these steps mentioned below,
Step 1 - Select a course for you, and check the eligibility of the selected course from the official university website.
Step 2 - After selecting the course, you can register on the admission portal of the website.
Step 3 - Fill in the required details like date of birth, qualifications, and so on. Now after the successful completion of the application form, scan and upload all the required documents on the portal.
Step 4 - Right after filling in the details, check all the information twice and then move to the next step.
Step 5 - Make a fee payment on the official payment portal of the website. Do not refresh or click the BACK button while making the payment.
Step 6 - Then you will receive the payment confirmation on the registered mobile number. Make sure to save the application form and keep the receipt for future reference.

Nalanda Open University Examination Pattern
Most of the courses consist of the same examination pattern that is-
- Written Exam that consists of 80 Marks
- Assessment- Assignment, projects, and theory work consists of 20 Marks
The Exam will be conducted at the particular exam center in 3 hours of duration. For some courses, practical exams will be conducted as well. It is essential to submit all the projects at the correct time at the dedicated study centers.
