If you are thinking of applying for a PhD at the University of Hyderabad, then it is mandatory to know the eligibility criteria. There are some of the criteria for admission are mentioned below for your reference:

• Candidates must hold a relevant master's degree (MA, MSc, MTech, MBBS, etc.) in the relevant or allied subject, generally with a minimum of 55% or equivalent marks.
• However, specific PhD programs may require the discipline/ allied qualifications to be more specific; always check with the department-wise eligibility.
• Admission is based mainly on performance in the entrance exam of UoH for PhD or from nationally recognized tests such as UGC-NET, CSIR-NET, JRF, or other similar tests applicable for that discipline.

The examination pattern followed by the university is the most commonly opted, the university conducts exams in two major components, internal assessment and end-term examination.

The internal assessments carry 20-30% of the total weightage and they are conducted to evaluate the practical understanding of the students with their assignments, whereas end-term examinations evaluate the overall theoretical understanding of a student throughout the semester and carry 70-80% of total weightage.
