Anna University Distance Education Admission Process
To get enrolled at the Centre of Distance Education of Anna University, students are required to follow the following steps:
Step 1- As it is mentioned, CDE offers selected professional courses and it requires a 10+2+3 pattern including a bachelor's degree. Only these eligible students can enroll themselves at Anna University Distance Education.
Step 2- Students are required to appear for Distance Education Entrance Test (DEET) and its evaluation with a valid TANCET score will be exempt from appearing in the DEET.
Step 3- After being qualified or shortlisted for admission students can download the application form, from the official website of the university.
Step 4- While filling out the application form students are required to fill in the information accurately.
Step 5- Meanwhile, students have to attach the required documents along with the application form.
Step 6- After filling out and attaching the application form students have to submit the application form by paying the application fee, which can be paid through a Demand Draft issued in the name of “The Director, Centre for Distance Education, Anna University”.
A few major points students must go through before enrolling themselves at the Centre for Distance Education, Anna University:
- - Students must have a bachelor’s degree under the 10+2+3 pattern.
- - Students enrolling for M.Sc and MCA must have studied Mathematics/Statistics as a major subject in their degree or at the 12th level.
- - MCA and MBA students are required to appear for Distance Education Entrance Test (DEET).
- - M.Sc students are shortlisted based on their marks obtained in their bachelor’s degree.

Anna University Distance Education Examination Pattern
The examination pattern at the Centre for Distance Education, Anna University includes two major components which are internal assessment and end-term examination. The maximum marks obtained for every course will be 100 marks and it is evaluated based on internal assessments that the university conducts throughout the semester. The weightage of internal assessment compromises 20% and the rest 80% is evaluated by end-term examination.
Note - The Centre for Distance Education, Anna University conducts contact classes which are conducted 12 days with a fixed timetable at alternative weekends, and a minimum of 50% attendance is required at the contact classes to appear for end term examination.
