Tamil Nadu Open University was the first university in the state, that offered Credit Based Self Learning Materials in print from 2003 and onwards. To get admission to Tamil Nadu Open University, s students have to follow the steps mentioned below:
Step 1: The student is required to visit the official website of TSOU.
Step 2: After visiting the website student have to click on the admission button under which a drop-down menu will appear and then click on the online admission button.
Step 3: On clicking the above menu, students have to fill out the details correctly.
Step 4: While filling out the details students have to attach the required documents along with the application form.
Step 5: While submitting the application form students have to pay the fee, they can pay it using Credit Card/Debit Card/Internet Banking.
Step 6: Required documents for admission are:

- - Credit Card/Debit Card/Internet Banking
- - JPEG File of Highest Qualification Certificate (10th /+2/Degree/Diploma)

Tamil Nadu Open University Examination Pattern
The evaluation of a student is based on the performance of the candidate throughout the year and by monitoring the internal assessment and end-term examination. The exams at TNOU are conducted twice a year and students will receive a hall ticket for it students have to report to their allotted exam centers on time and all the information regarding examinations is updated regularly on the official website, to know detailed information click here.
How to check the results of the examination at TNOU:
- To check the results, students are requested to visit the official website of TNOU.
- Click on the examination tab and a drop-down menu will appear, where students have to click on the examination result button.
- After that students have to log in with their credentials (enrolment number) and password.
- After submitting/logging in the result is displayed on the screen and students can download or save it for future reference.

There are various courses offered by the university, I initially was planning to enroll myself in M.A Sociology but there are various course opportunities and in the end, I opted for M.S.W (Social Work) and it was much more fascinating for me.
