Let's clear up some doubts
Yes, UGC-DEB has accredited an online B.A. to be a valid degree course and of equal value and credibility as an offline/regular B.A. degree course (when completed from an accredited university/college).
Usually, online universities don’t take any entrance tests for admission to BA degree courses. The eligibility criteria are to have completed at least HSC (i.e., 10+2 or equivalent education) from a recognized board with at least 50% aggregate marks. Students from any educational stream can apply to the online B.A. course.
The minimum duration of the BA course is 3 years with 6 semesters. However, some universities allow you to complete the course in a maximum duration of 6 years.
The examinations are conducted either on a semester-wise basis or an annual basis. It may differ from one university to another. The online B.A. degree usually has online proctored exams, whereas the ODL B.A. program may require the student to physically report to exam centers to appear for the examination.
The average course fee for an online B. A course varies between INR 50,000 and INR 100,000. The exact fee varies as per the university you select to pursue.
