IIM Kozhikode Scholarships

1)Scholarships provided by the Institute

(a) IIMK Merit Scholarship

• Awarded to the students of PGP, PGPLSM, and PGPFIN.
• Should be a student in the first or second year of one of the programs as mentioned earlier.
• Awarded based on their performance (CGPA) in one academic year.
• The number of scholarships is provided in the ratio of 1 scholarship for every 20 students in the first or second year.

(b) IIMK Need Based Financial Assistance

• This financial assistance is meant for students from various economic situations who are in need to be assisted financially.
• The eligibility criteria for availing of this assistance are given below:
  • The gross annual family income (last financial year) of the student is less than or equal to INR 8 Lakhs.
  • Students who have taken up a loan that is provided by scheduled commercial banks.
  • For the second year, students who have taken a loan have to produce loan disbursement details. It should be given in a prescribed format that is issued by the bank authorities.
  • The student shouldn’t have any record of any indiscipline or misconduct during the course.

• Students who have in receipt of more than one kind of financial assistance such as a scholarship, stipend, grant, assistance etc. have to refund all of them except the one financial assistance provided.
• A financial score is considered to make a final rank list that is prepared by the Financial Aid Committee (FAC) which also decides the quantum of financial assistance.

2) Scholarships provided by the Central Government

(a) Top Class Education Scheme for SC Students:

• Provided by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India.
• For students who belong to the SC category.
• Should have an annual parental income of less or equal to INR 8 Lakhs.
• Allowed to a maximum of 10 students

(b) National Fellowship and Scholarship for Higher Education of ST Students:

• Provided by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India.
• For students belonging to the ST category.
• For the student with an annual parental income of INR 6 Lakhs or less than that of the previous financial year
• No limit for the number of slots.

(c) Merit Cum Means Scholarship for Professional and Technical Courses CS:

• Provided by the Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India.
• Provided to students who belong to minority communities.
• Should have scored at least a minimum of 50% or equivalent grade in the previous final examination.
• For those with an annual family income of INR 2.5 Lakhs or less from the previous financial year.

(d) Scholarships for Top Class Education for students with disabilities:

• Provided by the Ministry of Empowerment of persons with disabilities, Government of India.
• Provided to the students with disabilities of 40% and above. Along with that, the student must have a certificate of disability as prescribed by the rules of the competent authority that is valid.
• For those students with a parent’s annual income of INR 8 Lakhs or less.

(e) Prime Ministers Scholarship Scheme for the wards of Central Armed Police Forces, Assam Rifles & state police personnel Ministry of Home Affairs:

• Provided by Ministry of Home Affairs.
• The following are the ones who can apply for the scholarship:
  • Wards/ widows of CAPFs & AR. CAPFs & AR personnel died in harness/ election duty.
  • Wards or personnel disabled due to causes attributable to Govt. services.
  • Wards of Ex CAPFs & AR personnel in receipt of Gallantry awards.
• Students must have a minimum of 60% marks in Minimum Entry Qualification (MEQ) that are 10+2/diploma/graduation or equivalent.

3) Scholarships provided by State Governments

(a) Rajarshri Shahu Maharaj Merit Scholarship:

• Provided by the Government of Maharashtra.
• The students eligible for the programme are:
  • The student must have a domicile in the state of Maharashtra or belong to the border of Maharashtra and Karnataka.
  • Should also belong to the Maratha community.
• Meant for the students whose annual family income is equal to or less than INR 8 Lakhs.

(b) Scholarship Scheme of Government of Tamil Nadu:

• Provided by the Government of Tamil Nadu.
• Provided to students belonging to BC/MBC/DNC communities.
• For students with an annual family income of INR 2 Lakhs or less.

4) Scholarships provided by Private Organisations

(a) IDFC First Bank MBA Scholarship:

• Provided by IDFC First Bank.
• For students who have been admitted through merit.
• For students, whose annual parent income is INR 6 Lakhs or less.
• Only for Indian nationals.
• Provided to students who are enrolled in an MBA or PG Diploma in Management.
• The scholarship amount to be provided is INR 1 Lakh per student, per year.

(b) Mirae Asset Foundation (MAF) Scholarship:

• Provided by Mirae Asset Foundation.
• For students of first & second year with high merit and in need of financial assistance.
• The students are selected and interviewed to make a final list of students, which is conducted by Mirae Asset Foundation.  
• For students who have an annual family income of INR 8 Lakhs.
• The student gets awarded INR 5 Lakhs as a scholarship.

 (c) Aditya Birla Group Scholarship:

• Provided by Aditya Birla Group.
• Based on the criteria laid down by Aditya Group itself.
• The top 20 students selected on the basis of the above-mentioned criteria are eligible to apply for this scholarship.
• These shortlisted students will be evaluated through a written test and interview conducted by Aditya Birla Group.
• The recipient also gets to receive the scholarship in his/her second year, if he/she is in the top 25 of the first-year results.
• Each student gets a scholarship of INR 1.75 Lakhs per year.

(d) OP Jindal Engineering & Management Scholarship:

• The students who are eligible for this scholarship are the top ten students from both the first & second year. 
• The selection is done based on the criteria laid down by the scholarship provider.
• Finally, the chosen recipient of the scholarship will be provided a scholarship of INR 1.5 Lakhs per year.
