The University of Hyderabad offers distance education through its Centre for Distance and Virtual Learning. This center is among the oldest centers of the University of Hyderabad which was established in 1994. This distance education department of the University of Hyderabad is based on the directions received from the University Grants Commission and the Ministry of Human Resource Development.

Students who are interested in getting admission to a distance education program offered by the University of Hyderabad must follow the steps mentioned below:
Step 1: The first step in the admission process requires going through the eligibility criteria of the selected course and applying according to it.
Step 2: After checking the eligibility criteria, the interested student must visit the official website of the university and register on it.
Step 3: the registration process will give login credentials to the students which are further used in the admission process.
Step 4: The student must log on to the official website of the university and click on the online admission tab.
Step 5: After clicking on the admission tab, the online application form will pop up and students are required to fill out the application form with the required information.
Step 6: While filling out the application form students have to attach the required documents along with it.
Step 7: After attaching the documents and filling out the form student must pay the fee for their opted program.
Step 8: When the fee payment is done student can submit their application.
Step 9: After submitting the application form student must print out their their application form and fee receipt for future reference.

University of Hyderabad Distance Education Examination Pattern
The examination pattern followed by the university is the most commonly opted, the university conducts exams in two major components, internal assessment and end-term examination.
The internal assessments carry 20-30% of the total weightage and they are conducted to evaluate the practical understanding of the students with their assignments, whereas end-term examinations evaluate the overall theoretical understanding of a student throughout the semester and carry 70-80% of total weightage.
